📜 License Requirements
- All anglers 17+ need a valid Texas fishing license
- Saltwater endorsement required for saltwater fishing
- Guided trip passengers covered under guide's license
- Free fishing days: First Saturday in June
⚠️ Special Regulations
- Red Drum: Slot limit 20"-28", up to 2 over 28" per year with Red Drum Tag & Bonus Tag
- Spotted Seatrout: Slot 15"-20", bag limit 3/day; 1 over 30" per year with Spotted Seatrout Tag
- Flounder: Nov 1-30 is catch & release only in most bays
- Sharks: Must land with head & tail intact for measurement
- Tarpon: Catch & release only (tag required for harvest)
⚡ Quick Tips
- Always measure fish with mouth closed to the tail
- Use circle hooks when fishing with natural bait
- Release fish quickly - don't hold out of water too long
- Check for seasonal closures before targeting specific species
🛥️ Boating Safety
- Life jackets required for all passengers under 13
- Navigation lights required 30 min before sunset to 30 min after sunrise
- Sound-producing device required (whistle or horn)
- Fire extinguisher required on boats with enclosed fuel tanks
- No wake in marked zones and within 50' of fishermen
